Clear communication

About
I'm Mara Delacroix, a freelance motion designer & animator based in Seoul, South Korea. I care about clear thinking and honest work.
Background
Ten years turning briefs into motion — and still chasing the perfect ease.
I've spent the last decade animating for brands, agencies, and product teams — everything from two-second logo stings to full explainer films. I started in a broadcast graphics house, went in-house at a product studio, and have been freelance since, and along the way I learned that great motion is mostly great timing: knowing exactly when something should move, and when it should hold still.
My favorite projects are the ones where the idea isn't obvious yet. I like sitting with a rough script, sketching style frames until the tone clicks, then animating until every transition feels inevitable. When it works, nobody notices the individual keyframes — the piece just feels alive, and the message lands before the viewer can look away.
I work across After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Lottie, and I care as much about clean handoff as I do about the render — source files, naming, and easing tokens your developers can actually use. Outside of client work I animate short loops, study title sequences frame by frame, and mentor junior motion designers. If that sounds like your kind of collaborator, I'd love to hear what you're making.
Principles
You always know the current cut, what's next, and why it moves that way.
Timing, easing, and sound — the last 10% of polish is where motion earns its keep.
Every animation serves the message, not just a showreel of effects.
No drama, no ego — steady WIP previews and honest feedback until it's right.
Kind words
“The brand animation gave us a signature moment we now use everywhere. Thoughtful, precise, and delivered with templates our team could actually run.”
“Our explainer nailed the tone on the first storyboard and lifted sign-ups the week it went live. On time, on budget, zero drama.”

FAQ
A short logo sting can be a week; a full explainer or 3D spot usually runs three to six weeks including script, storyboard, and revisions. I'll give you a clear timeline in the proposal before we start.
Send me a note about your project and I'll reply within two business days.
